What are the best practices to be followed while raising funds?

We strongly recommend the following –

Add a display picture to your profile (if you log in using Facebook, the display picture is automatically pulled)
Ensure that your PAN number is correct.
Explain the fundraiser goals, fund usage clearly. Add any external links (media coverage, website, Facebook page, Twitter account) that are relevant to the fundraiser.
Upload supporting documents – medical estimates, admission letters, and invoices that can explain the fund requirement clearly.
Start sharing the fundraiser extensively with your friends and family members so that the fundraiser receives donations

When does my fundraiser go live?

Your fundraiser goes live immediately after submission. You can start receiving donations on the fundraiser. You can now upload supporting documents and then be able to withdraw the funds raised.

We provide tools to help you promote your fundraiser. We strongly encourage you to start sharing your fundraiser with your friends, family, and on social media immediately after setting up your fundraiser.

What is an Update? Why should I, a fundraiser, post an update?

An update is a periodical notification sent to donors of a fundraiser. This notification may contain details about the progress of your fundraising activity. If your cause is a medical emergency, you can also include information about the health condition of the beneficiary. This update goes out to all the donors in the form of an email and/or WhatsApp message.

Posting updates frequently is an important activity. This helps in building trust in your donors. An update is a very good way to thank your donors for their contributions. They can be used to inform donors about the progress of your fundraiser and can also be used to raise more funds.

What happens if enough funds aren’t raised for a cause?

We understand that crowdfunding is not easy and at times, organizers may not be able to reach the fundraising target. Keeping this in mind, we have designed a system where any amount that is raised can be withdrawn and utilized for the cause. We allow the organizers to withdraw the funds in part or in full as and when they require it.
